The Sales Director, CANDU, is responsible for meeting growth objectives for Westinghouse's Canadian operations which services the global CANDU fleet of reactors, by identifying profitable business opportunities and developing long-term business growth strategies. The role reports to the VP Sales for the Americas region and also has a dual reporting line to the VP Operating Plant Services, Canada. This individual is responsible for leading cross functional efforts in developing the capture strategy for new opportunities, working with the product line managers and account managers from the identification of an opportunity through negotiations and finalization of contracts. This individual has overall accountability for maintaining a sales pipeline committed to meeting company objectives which includes the identification and development of opportunities to increase Westinghouse's market share in the CANDU market.
It is a bona fide job requirement to be eligible and authorized to travel to the U.S. on Westinghouse business, and such travel is subject to the rules and regulations of the U.S. Department of Energy, as well as compliance with all applicable U.S. export laws and regulations
Your Day to Day:
- Meet financial objectives established for the CANDU product portfolio including but not limited to Margin As-Sold, Order Entry, and opportunity pipeline growth.
- Lead a team of offer development personnel and well as cross-functional individuals to meet CANDU business objectives through the capture of profitable orders.
- Lead opportunity development sales funnel process from identification through offer development and contract closure.
- Develop / maintain technical and sales related knowledge to support the CANDU portfolio needs. The Director will be responsible to support technical questions multiple layers deep while able to easily facilitate and guide interactions between the business segments and the customers during the sales process.
- Build solid relationships with customers, partners, and internal WEC stakeholders.
- Lead capture strategy for opportunities including but not limited to identifying bundling opportunities, cross coordination of products to present customer-oriented solutions, and collaborate with Product Management and Account Management to define target price and target costs.
- Responsible for negotiations with the client until final contract signature, ensuring proper teamwork and alignment with all relevant WEC teammates including Account Managers, Product Management, Legal, Finance, and supporting organizations.
- Lead or oversee negotiations with consortium partners whenever relevant and drive alignment with all relevant WEC stakeholders.
- Responsible for the management of opportunities and data within the customer relationship management tool for associated opportunities.
- Oversee Offer development team and ensure all policies and processes are adhered to. For high value or high-risk opportunities, present the offer for approval and obtain buy-in from key WEC stakeholders to ensure offer meets Westinghouse target objectives while meeting Customer needs.
- Located in proximity to customer base to support sales objectives. Travel to customer locations to facilitate meetings with customers to establish relationships and engagement with product line managers as part of the overall sales process.
Who You Are:
- Bachelors of Science or Business Degree.
- 10 -15 years of experience working at or with CANDU Utilities. Preferred on-site nuclear plant experience in a utility position or customer facing role as a vendor.
- Knowledge of Nuclear Utility buying processes
- General knowledge of related CANDU Nuclear Plant Operations
- Business Development, Sales or Marketing experience
- Strong business accumen
- Exceptional leadership and management skills
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
