About the Position:

The Graphic Designer is a member of the Marketing team, responsible for research, planning and preparation of marketing campaigns, signage, online/offline advertisements, collateral, and branding.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work within existing brand guidelines and produce print collateral, image-based e-mails, and digital assets for our website and social media channels.
  • Works well as part of a collaborative team, and directly with our current Graphic Designer, Marketing Specialist, and Marketing Manager.
  • Assist in the production of artwork encompassing community maps, print brochures, small and large format signage, and website assets. Other tasks include refinement of technical illustration / floorplans, photography touch-ups, colour correction and other tasks as required.
  • Accurately estimate the time required to complete work and work successfully within time constraints.
  • Work within existing templates to create impactful Marketing collateral, such as brochures, business cards, presentations, etc.
  • Meet deadlines by planning a timely production schedule and maintaining a consistent workflow;
  • Ensure proofs are accurate and adhere to brand standards;
  • Develop and adhere to specifications and standards for printing and file preparation;
  • Integrate multimedia concepts with technical graphic design elements, as needed

  • Ensure proofs are accurate and adhere to brand standards;
  • Recommend and/or select the appropriate substrates and materials;
  • Keep on top of design trends to stay informed on industry changes to ensure our designs are relevant and up to date.
Qualifications:
  • Completed post-secondary diploma in Graphic Design or related academic field of study comparable to Canadian academic standards preferred.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of working as a graphic designer, possessing demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio required.
  • Experience with design software and graphics editing software such as InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is required.
  • Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements and multimedia design required.
  • Experience with Adobe design software and graphics editing software, such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Expertise in video editing and creation is a bonus.
  • Understand both digital and print design.
  • Knowledge of design techniques and experience with social media and other digital marketing channels is an asset.
  • Ability to work well within a team, but also independently on assigned projects.
  • An understanding of visual elements (layout, typography, colour theory etc.).
  • A talent for creativity and problem-solving.
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to interact with both internal and external clients.
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • CMS (e.g, WordPress) experience not required, but would be considered an asset.
  • A valid class five (5) driver's license and personal reliable transportation is required.
  • Manual dexterity is required to work with computers and peripherals.
  • Work is performed at head office. Some onsite visits to showhomes may be required. Remote or Hybrid work not available.
  • Occasional event assistance required that may fall outside of weekday & daytime hours.
