Position Summary: The Resource Development and Communication Coordinator, in conjunction with the Resource Development Manager, is responsible for the development of a cost-effective and productive resource development and fundraising program to meet the revenue requirements of Victoria Sexual Assault Centre Society. This position is primarily remote, but attendance at local Victoria events throughout the year will be required. In-office shifts will also be required during orientation. This position would be best suited to someone who is comfortable working mostly from home but lives locally and can attend and support local Victoria events/projects when needed. Technology to work from home will be provided.

Job Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Resource Development Manager, play a lead role in special event coordination, particularly fundraising and awareness events, and act as a liaison for third-party events.
  • In collaboration with the Resource Development Manager, play a lead role in special project coordination, website, and donor stewardship, and act as a liaison for third-party project consultants.
  • Assist the Resource Development Manager with annual campaigns as well as other fundraising initiatives.
  • Assist in the maintenance and integrity of the resource development information management systems (RENXT).
  • In coordination with relevant staff, write, coordinate and submit grant proposals.
  • In collaboration with VSAC staff, manage existing grants by: tracking grants, developing internal reporting systems, coordinating submission of reports, working with program managers to ensure each project or program is meeting proposal conditions and expectations.
  • In collaboration with VSAC staff, maintain strong relationships with grant funders and partners with the agency, ensuring all requirements around grants are met as a member of the Resource Development team.
  • In collaboration with VSAC staff, manage social media, e-news, VSAC blog and web content as well as support and maintain an integrated communication plan to enhance direct mail and other fundraising campaigns.
  • Performs the work within the missions, values, and goals of the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre.

Qualifications:

Experience/Education

  • Minimum 2 years of university/advanced education, or the equivalent skills and knowledge gained from related experience and training.
  • Experience in event coordination, preferably fundraising and awareness events.
  • Knowledge of best practices in social media and website engagement.
  • Experience with graphic design software (Canva, Publisher, MailChimp).
  • Experience with grant prospecting and grant writing.
  • Knowledge of database management, particularly within fundraising.

Job Skills and Abilities

  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong understanding of anti-oppressive practices and inclusive frameworks.
  • Strong understanding and implementation of an intersectional analysis of sexualized violence.
  • Excellent computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and Publisher. Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Word Press and website management.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to take initiative.
  • Ability to manage multiple and diverse projects and deadlines.
  • Flexibility in scheduling as occasional evenings and weekends are required.
  • Requires a criminal records check
