Communications and Marketing Specialist

Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton is currently recruiting for a Communications and Marketing Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing both internal and external marketing and communications strategies for Umbrella Family. This position oversees social media communications, website design and branding/ marketing of the organization and its programs.

What are we looking for?

Qualifications required for the position include:

• Five to seven years of experience working within communications and marketing;
• Experience in project planning, development, implementation and evaluation;
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft office programs and Adobe Creative Suite with a focus on InDesign;
• In-depth knowledge and experience working with social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X/Twitter;
• Experience working with Wordpress and basic HTML;
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with strong relationship building skills;
• Ability to focus on established priorities; and
• Resourcefulness and flexibility to meet the needs and the demands of the position.

Target Starting Salary: $62-65,000/year

Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton operates full-day early learning and child care centres for infant, toddler and preschool children, as well as extended day programs before and after school for kindergarten and school age children in the Greater Hamilton Area.
