Role: Graphic Designer
About the opportunity
Canadawide Sports is seeking a Graphic Designer to join our expanding marketing team and support our growing portfolio of brands. In this position, you will play a vital role in implementing a wide range of creative projects by crafting and enhancing graphic materials for dynamic campaigns and product launches. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and safeguarding the visual identity of our portfolio of brands. Whether it's producing digital assets for social media, email, and web to designing product graphics, packaging, and catalogues, you will manage a diverse set of design projects across both digital and print mediums. This role requires a strong blend of creativity, technical expertise, and the ability to see projects through from concept to completion. Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing, this is an exciting opportunity for a well-rounded designer with a passion for branding and sports.
This role is based in St. George, ON.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand project briefs and ensure the successful translation of concepts into tangible designs.
- Balance multiple projects on deadline to ensure work is delivered in a timely fashion while enforcing brand standards and guidelines.
- Work closely with the marketing team to track projects, review deliverables, develop concepts, make edits, and validate final assets.
- Participate in creative discussions with the ability to take feedback and direction to enhance the final creative deliverables.
- Responsible for maintaining art files and creative assets within Canadawide Sports' shared folder organization system.
- Create engaging and innovative social media content, with a strong focus on creating high-quality videos and dynamic graphics, to captivate our audience and promote our products effectively.
- Update and prepare final files for print and digital distribution, including packaging working files, exporting PDFs, and preparing layouts to meet publication or printer specs.
- Present and communicate design concepts effectively, explaining the rationale behind creative decisions.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or College diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of professional graphic design experience.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and After Effects).
- Skilled in editing both long-form and short-form videos.
- Experience with marketing automation, e-commerce platforms (e.g., Klaviyo, Shopify, Amazon), and copywriting is an asset.
- Proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and tools.
- Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, colour theory, and branding.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
