Your role on our team:
This role requires a collaborative, purpose-driven leader who is passionate about working with a diverse group of people in a fast-paced and dynamic industry. Reporting to the Chief Corporate Services Officer, the Corporate Brand, Marketing & Communications leader will be responsible for evolving the company's overall brand architecture, including guidelines and standards, and ensuring consistent application throughout marketing and communications initiatives across the company. This role will oversee all external and internal communications plans, working closely with senior executives, and the External and Internal Communications leads, and Corporate Marketing & Customer Strategy leader to align on strategic communications plans, content development, and marketing approach.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Brand Management
- Manage and uphold Minto's brand architecture with clear and consistent guidelines and standards through collaborative partnership and consultation with regional Marketing teams while sharing best practices and facilitating discussion to inform effective decision-making across all regional marketing teams.
- Engage with external marketing agencies to review brand framework/standards as needed.
- Responsible for Minto's corporate website (minto.com), supporting the Corporate Marketing & Customer Strategy leader to oversee and drive a positive brand experience in the digital landscape, attracting prospective customers and employees.
- Develop corporate marketing and communication initiatives to support and promote Minto's Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) strategy and ensure all public ESG reporting requirements are fulfilled.
- Produce annual ESG reports for both Minto Group and Minto Apartment REIT ensuring technical integration with minto.com is effectively established to allow for easy access for all.
- Create an external communications strategy to deploy ESG stories that enhance the brand.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of brand initiatives and their impact on both employee engagement and customer satisfaction and use these insights to continuously improve brand strategies and tactics.
- Partner with the Customer Experience teams in our homebuilding and rental divisions to ensure that customer touchpoints reflect Minto's brand and values.
- Partner with Human Resources and the regional marketing teams to define and communicate Minto's external employer brand.
- Acts as the lead brand ambassador advocating for a best-in-class experience for all employees and customers
- Develop and manage Minto's public relations strategy, including a comprehensive earned and paid media. campaign focused on national and GTA media. Identify relevant paid media opportunities, manage thought leadership pieces, and coordinate media relations, outreach, and interviews.
External & Internal Communications
- Act as the primary contact for Canadian media and issues management across all divisions including homebuilding and multi-residential teams, to promote and protect Minto's reputation.
- Develop external communications plans to support and share Minto's ESG strategy and other public reporting as required, working closely with internal specialists in preparing the annual ESG Report.
- Support the company's senior executives on government relations needs to advocate for business interests and foster relationships on an ?as and where needed? basis.
- Ensure internal and external strategic communications plans align with cohesive and consistent messaging through content development and approach.
- Direct and optimize the marketing strategy across social media channels to enhance brand presence and engagement.
- Offer partnership and support for internal communications, from leadership storytelling to change management.
- In partnership with the CEO and C-suite team, develop the vision and agenda for the company's annual Senior Leadership Team (SLT) retreat.
- Lead the corporate lead Charitable Giving Program ensuring employee volunteerism and ?giving back to our communities? is a key foundational element.
We would like you to have:
- 15+ years of strategic communications experience (agency and/or real estate experience preferred) with a proven track record in reputation management, corporate communications, media relations, issues management and marketing technology platforms/products.
- Broad marketing and communications skills with proven success driving brand governance, social media marketing, and proactive media relations.
- Experience developing purposeful external and internal communication plans and a proven ability to write simply and cohesively.
- Experience and understanding of corporate responsibility and ESG initiatives.
- Experience serving in counsel to senior executives in a corporate communications setting, including in a crisis and litigation context (financial communications/investor relations an asset).
- Ability to spot trends, monitor for emerging socio-political issues, and be sensitive to issues that affect clients' reputations and brands.
- Strong academic background with an undergraduate degree; an MBA is desirable.
- Bilingual (English and French) would be an asset.
