Oversees the Canadian organization's marketing activities including advertising, marketing communications, product management, and promotions. Establishes company-wide marketing plan to attain sales and profitability goals. Evaluates the effectiveness of marketing programs and initiatives, making changes as needed. Stays abreast of changes in marketing environment and strategies, to inform long range strategic plan and annual marketing planning process. This role has a significant impact on sales revenue and market share of CooperVision products for the region with responsibility for $90-100 million in revenue in Canada.

The role will plan, direct, and manage Marketing strategy and execution to profitably grow the Canadian business:

  • Responsible for the pricing, promotion, positioning, and portfolio placement of the brand and communication execution to the eye care professional/consumer
  • Responsible for the financial performance of the brand including sales analysis, trial productivity and operating expenses
  • Develop, execute and measure holistic marketing communications, events and demand generation programs for the portfolio of branded and private label products and services
  • Coach and develop the team of marketing managers through regular 1:1's, team meetings and the annual Performance Evaluation Process/development plans

Responsibilities

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

  • Provides the planning and leadership to the Marketing department by ensuring that the appropriate structures, systems, competencies and values are developed in order to meet and exceed our goals
  • Implements corporate brand strategy for Canada and ensures alignment to regional brand execution in accordance with global guidelines.
  • Delivers on regional objectives and marketing strategies as defined in the Americas region LRSP
  • Recommends pricing strategies and tactics, to optimize revenue.
  • Prepares annual LRSP, product marketing plan and develop new product launch plans with direction from the global & regional teams
  • Participates in all global & regional meetings to input and inform on Canadian market/customer needs, and communicate relevant updates to local brand teams and management
  • Coordinates efforts within the marketing team and cross-functionally as appropriate to implement programs and initiatives to support brand growth
  • Provides strategic input to the development and execution of National Account, retail marketing and individual office marketing strategies including customer retention strategies and special projects
  • Ensures marketing materials follow CVI brand guidelines and comply with internal regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Assists with product forecasting to support revenue and manufacturing forecasts including individual lens products, fitting sets, trial and comp lenses
  • Identifies, maintains and communicates key market information and insights to members of the marketing and sales team
  • Gains feedback from both field sales and Eye Care Practitioners relevant to advancing CooperVision's goals and objectives
  • Creates and presents key presentations to senior management, sales and customers as required
  • Participates in and/or provides support to other marketing projects and programs, including the NSM, trade shows, corporate website, etc.
  • Guides the day-to-day activities of the marketing team
  • Fosters an environment of teamwork, collaboration and creativity

Travel Requirements:

  • On average 20% travel requirement, at times the intensity may increase
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally, with no restrictions
  • Occasional weekends - for conferences, events, etc

Work Environment:

  • Office-based/hybrid environment with periodic travel to customer locations, CooperVision events, industry events and other CooperVision sites
  • Must be located in the Greater Toronto Area and able to commute to the Richmond Hill Office

Experience:

  • Requires 15+ total years in marketing and sales, including senior management experience
  • A minimum of 7-10 years marketing experience in a management role, including people management
  • Experience in the healthcare/medical products/consumer products industries is required.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • MBA preferred
