About the Role:

Use your knowledge of digital marketing to make a meaningful impact on all 204 First Nations in BC! We are seeking an energetic, savvy marketing professional to join our innovative and heart-centered team as a Digital Marketing Coordinator. In this role, you will develop and coordinate many aspects of the organization's digital marketing. In alignment with the Strategic Communications Plan, you will raise awareness of the organization's diverse programs, engage our community, and creatively assist student recruitment and fundraising initiatives. This position will report to the Manager, Communications & Marketing.

The First Nations Technology Council is an Indigenous-led, innovative non-profit mandated by First Nations leadership in British Columbia. We work to advance digital literacy, improve internet connectivity and provide guidance on data and digital technology for all 204 First Nations across the province. Primary Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute digital marketing campaigns to boost awareness and resonate with target audiences in all business areas, including digital skills training, career services, business development, and research projects.
  • Create engaging written and visual content in alignment with the Technology Council brand guide and values for all digital platforms, including social media, email marketing, and our website.
  • Manage social media platforms (LinkedIn, Meta, Instagram, X, TikTok) daily, including content creation and publishing, responding to direct messages and comments, seeking opportunities to engage with target audiences, and reporting on data analytics.
  • Manage email marketing campaigns (CampaignMonitor), including content coordination and development, subscriber growth, and reporting on data analytics.
  • Regularly report on KPIs and make recommendations that support organizational objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, opportunities, and competitors to optimize strategies.
  • Attend and organize internal meetings with other staff and departments and external meetings with contractors and partners.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in digital marketing, social media management and email marketing.
  • Creativity and the ability to innovate marketing approaches.
  • Creative writing ability for social media, website, and newsletters that aligns with established key messages in Strategic Communications Plans.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and proactive.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in measuring campaign ROI.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding how to perform basic tasks on WordPress, including content updates, SEO/SEM improvements, plugin updates, and data analytics, is preferred but not necessary.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Google and PPC advertising.
  • Graphics design (Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud).
  • Photography and video editing.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a digital marketing role or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Residency in British Columbia with access to a reliable internet connection.
  • Knowledge of challenges impacting Indigenous Peoples in Canada or a keen willingness to learn.

Supervision:

This position reports directly to the Manager, Communications & Marketing.

Salary Range:

$55,000-$65,000
