The Opportunity - Marketing Specialist, Base Revenue

We are looking for a customer-centric Marketing Specialist to join the Base Revenue and Product Marketing team at FreshBooks. The Base Revenue area focuses on driving upsell tactics to our paying customers including plan changes, FreshBooks add-ons, and partner add-ons. The team develops strategies and tactics to drive this metric including email marketing drips, ad hoc campaigns and offers, as well as in-product communications.

The Marketing Specialist role will collaborate on the Base strategy and lead the execution of our marketing campaigns. This dynamic role will get to work with other marketing stakeholders, analytics, sales, business development, and more, to successfully drive a strong go-to-market strategy for our base customers. This role has the exciting opportunity to directly influence key KPIs for FreshBooks including increasing subscription and add-on monthly recurring revenue (MRR).

Please note: This role can be performed remotely; however, the working hours will be 9 AM to 5 PM EST/EDT.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with other Marketing Manager on strategy for base communications and programs, to drive an increase in MRR and add-on adoption.
  • Lead the execution of base communications, including a large revamp of our base email drip campaigns & strategy.
  • Work closely with Business Development to ensure tactics, value props, and messaging for our partner add-ons are impactful and drive partner MRR and add-on adoption.
  • Identify new opportunities and programs to drive MRR for the customer base.
  • Analyze campaign performance, create recommendations for future improvements, and action them.
  • Support cross-functional teams on initiatives that require speaking to the base, including price increases and other important communications.

What You'll Bring:

  • 2+ years of experience within a marketing or go-to-market role.
  • Experience creating marketing campaigns, and owning programs from the brief phase to guiding the delivery teams (i.e. Creative Services, Marketing Operations, or Web) through to execution.
  • Strong marketing communication skills, with a level of comfortability and intuition to provide feedback to the Creative Services team on copy & design.
  • Experience developing email campaigns, including marketing drips, and ad hoc communications.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to get into the weeds and focus on small details.
  • Strong storytelling ability within presentations, marketing briefs, meetings and more.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with a variety of teams, and guide teams towards a common goal.
  • Curiosity and drive to solve problems, supported by qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Familiarity working within platforms such as Looker and Google Suite (Slides & Sheets).
