MARKETING/COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Founded in 1977, Consolidated Gypsum/Roofing Supply is a building distribution company operating in six (6) locations in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the President, and supporting the Director of Sales, the Marketing/Communications Manager strives to create an environment where marketing and communication seamlessly interacts with all associates, departments, and branches as well as maintains brand status within the external market. Their primary role is to align external and internal communications with the sales team, including web presence, digital delivery, inbound marketing, CRM, customer insight, and product campaigns.

This position is a one-person department and full-time position for a seasoned professional.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy

  • Develop and implement a Marketing Communications Plan which includes an objective and tasks to ensure we are measuring the effectiveness of our communications
  • Ensure completion and implementation of strategic goals

Marketing

  • Content creation including planning, writing, editing, staging, and promoting online content
  • Coordination of branding and advertising
  • CRM Project Specialist
  • Creation and distribution of all marketing materials through various channels, including promotional flyers, emails, social media (LinkedIn, etc.), website development, customer surveys, internal surveys, newsletters
  • Create content, publish and manage all social media using Wordpress, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Mailchip, Capsuel, Xero, Wrinke, Trello and Unbounce
  • Setup and Management on Google, Facebook and other advertising campaigns (Web and Print)
  • Track, analyze and interpret metrics and create reports, presenting to senior management
  • Review branding, positioning of the company to ensure impact and awareness
  • Additional responsibilities include eBusiness Development, including website maintenance, and online presence reputation management and creation
  • Support the sales function by increasing awareness and consideration for the new product or service commercialization.
  • Provide marketing and event coverage as necessary.

Promotional Products

  • Year-round acquisition, design and production of customer merchandise gifts

Showroom Merchandising Assistance

  • Creation of showroom signage, banners and POP materials

Communications

  • Newsletter creation and distribution
  • Prepare and publish communications, promotional material, advertisements, and other marketing materials for social media and email newsletters.
  • Prepare corporate communications and marketing pieces that professionally represent the company. Such as direct email, materials, lists and campaigns.
  • Consult all employees on professional communication strategies (LinkedIn, email, etc.).
  • Frequent email blasts

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Diploma or Degree in Marketing or equivalent program
  • Experience in blogging, social media, and inbound marketing
  • Experience in content creation (both web and print)
  • Project management experience
  • Computer fluency including various marketing programs, (Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp)
  • Excellent understanding and working knowledge of brand building and brand management
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate overall strategy into everyday communications
  • Organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Occasional travel to Red Deer, Calgary and Saskatoon
