What is Ooks Life Team?

Every year, NAITSA hires a team of students to help plan and promote a variety of events and initiatives for their fellow NAIT students. The Ooks Life Team (?OLT? for short) is a team of students who work together to create memorable experiences and a strong campus culture.

Being part of OLT offers the opportunity to learn and grow your skills, all while being fully immersed in campus life - and getting paid for it!

There are different positions on Ooks Life Team ranging from Clubs Events and Clubs Finance, Marketing and Promotions, Engagement, Involvement, Volunteer, and Events. Each position has different responsibilities but everyone works together as a team to contribute to the collective goals and success of Ooks Life Team.

Position Summary

The role of the Clubs Marketing Coordinator is to be available as a mentor to club leaders who are looking for assistance in creating marketing plans for their club activities. They will work with club leaders to design promotional materials, develop marketing strategies, and help raise awareness of student clubs on campus. The Clubs Marketing Coordinator is also responsible for managing and maintaining the NAITSA Campus Clubs Instagram account under the supervision of the Campus Life Marketing Manager.

Responsibilities

The Clubs Marketing Coordinator is integral to providing students with a well-rounded campus life experience focused on clubs involvement. This role has two key functions:

Club Marketing & Relationship Building

  • Work with clubs by offering marketing support for club-led initiatives
  • Manage the Campus Clubs social media accounts; strategizing, planning and coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Act as the point of contact for clubs that want assistance with marketing their events.
  • Increase awareness for clubs and club activities on campus.
  • Schedule meetings to collaborate with clubs on their marketing plans.
  • Plan and host club workshops and social media initiatives.
  • Provide support for other OLT sub-committee programming such as ?Club at the Pub?, ?Club Connects?, and ?Club Socials?.
  • Assist the Campus Clubs department with events and initiatives where required, including Campus Clubs Leadership Conference and Club Showcases.
  • Support clubs in creating event posters, as needed.

Marketing support for the Campus Clubs department

  • Assist with marketing developments for the Campus Clubs department.
  • As needed, liaise with NAITSA's graphics team for support
  • Brainstorm creative ideas to engage and communicate with students

Hours of Work & Employment Term

This is a part-time, temporary position with an employment term end date of April 30, 2026. Hours of work vary each month. There are limited summer hours, with the majority of this job's responsibilities occurring during the academic year. Most shifts and hours are scheduled on campus, with some exceptions for off-campus events and working remotely as required. The successful candidate must be a student enrolled in classes for the full term.

Qualifications and Considerations

  • Must be a NAIT student enrolled for the entire 2025-2026 academic year.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledgeable in marketing plan development.
  • Possesses an understanding of social media channel management and marketing strategies.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who can supply a strong portfolio that showcases their diverse marketing and social media experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace applications.
  • Experience with Canva, TikTok, Instagram, CapCut (or similar video editing software), and interest in graphic design principles is considered an asset.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 25lbs.
  • Must have a computer with camera and microphone for virtual meetings, training, and working remotely as needed.
