Job Description

The Lesser Slave Watershed Council (LSWC) is seeking a creative, self-motivated individual to join our team in a Communications and Administrative coordinator position. This full-time role is based out of our office in High Prairie, AB.

Major Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Content creation for and management of the LSWC's social media accounts.
  • LSWC website management.
  • Coordination of LSWC newsletters and management of newsletter communication list (MailChimp)
  • Society membership management and communications
  • Promotion and coordination of the Elliott & Rosche Memorial Bursary program annually
  • Management and promotion of the ?Eyes on Lesser Slave Lake? project.
  • Aid with the planning and delivery of annual general meeting, workshops, and events throughout the year.
  • Creation of print and electronic resources eg. Forms, brochures, postcards, project summaries, watershed resources, annual reports.
  • Tracking social media and website statistics, volunteer time contributions, donations and other in-kind contributions to the LSWC.
  • General administrative and office related tasks in support of LSWC projects and operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent computer skills. Ability to use: Office 365 suite & Teams, Canva, Google applications, WordPress, Eventbrite, Photoshop, Adobe.
  • 1 year of experience in a related position
  • Basic graphic design experience
  • Familiarity with social media platforms: Facebook, Linked In, X, YouTube, Instagram, Later, Mailchimp.
  • Ability to work independently, establish priorities and manage time effectively.
  • Valid drivers license

Assets

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Environmental knowledge or experience
  • GIS experience
  • Experience working with non profit organizations

Position details

  • Full time, Monday - Friday, 8:30-4:30, with occasional weekends or evenings.
  • Term of Employment: 1 year, with opportunity for renewal.
  • Starting wage: $22-25 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
  • 3 weeks of holidays, health benefits after 3 months.
