Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Communications and Marketing Manager to lead our communications efforts and marketing initiatives across our network of optometry clinics. This role will be responsible for overseeing the call center operations (Mission Control), managing corporate communications, and monitoring strategic marketing campaigns to enhance brand visibility, patient engagement, and clinic growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Mission Control Management & Patient Communications

Lead and support a team of communications coordinators (Mission Control), ensuring exceptional service and efficiency in handling patient inquiries, appointment scheduling, and follow-ups.

Develop scripts, training programs, and performance metrics to enhance patient interactions.

Monitor call centre performance against targets, address challenges, and implement improvements to increase customer satisfaction.

Manage Administrative Tasks: Oversee and support the administrative responsibilities associated with the Communications Coordinators in Mission Control, ensuring efficiency in day-to-day operations, adherence to organizational processes, and seamless coordination across departments.

2. Corporate Communications & Brand Management

Oversee all internal and external communications, ensuring consistency in messaging across clinics.

Manage patient communication strategies, including appointment reminders, recalls, follow-ups, and customer satisfaction surveys.

Handle public relations efforts, including press releases, corporate announcements, and media engagement.

Develop and maintain brand guidelines to ensure cohesive branding across all locations.

3. Marketing Strategy & Implementation
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns to promote clinic services, special offers, and patient education initiatives.
  • Engage with external marketing firm, to monitor digital marketing efforts, including website content, email marketing, and online advertising.
  • Manage social media content while monitoring and analyzing engagement, reach, and performance metrics
  • Track and analyze marketing performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize patient engagement and return on investment (ROI).

4. Community Engagement & Business Development

Build partnerships with local businesses, schools, and community organizations to increase awareness of Doctors Vision Group services.

Organize promotional events, sponsorships, and outreach programs to engage with the community.

Identify opportunities for business growth and work with clinic leadership to implement strategic initiatives.

5. Event Management

Plan, coordinate, and execute DVG events, including marketing initiatives, patient engagement events, and internal team gatherings.

Oversee the development and logistics of the annual retreat, ensuring a well-structured and engaging experience for attendees.

Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to manage event budgets, timelines, and promotional materials.

Develop event marketing strategies to maximize engagement, participation, and brand visibility.

Evaluate event success through feedback collection and performance metrics, implementing improvements for future initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.

3-5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or customer service leadership, preferably in healthcare or retail environments.

Experience managing call centre operations and leading customer service teams is a strong asset.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.

Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in CRM systems, spreadsheets and data analytics tools.
