The Assistant Marketing Manager - Established Brands is responsible for providing support in developing and executing marketing activities for assigned brands across all channels (Retail, Export, Foodservice, Non-Trad) to achieve the brands' revenue goals and strategic business objectives. Based in Waterloo Ontario and reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, this position is an integral part of our small, dynamic marketing team. We're looking for a creative, energetic, and enthusiastic individual who is excited to learn and bring innovative and unique ideas from concept to implementation. - Assist in the development of marketing strategies for assigned brands including brand positioning, market and competitive analyses, customer segmentation, penetration plans, promotional activities, and related product positioning.
- Guide development and lead execution of effective integrated marketing communication programs to build consumer value, including but not limited to, branding, public relations, advertising, tradeshows, market research, digital media, and content management, either directly or on an outsourced basis.
- Develop and deliver all marketing materials including print, POS, coupons, sampling, as well as trade and consumer advertising including magazine, radio, and out-of-home.
- Facilitate brand and product marketing support including product launch promotional support, sales training, presentations, and tools, and general sales support.
- Gather, analyze, and report on consumer and customer research and trends.
- Work with innovation team to identify trends and research opportunities to support the brand's innovation pipeline and new product development process.
- Work closely with Marketing Manager, Product Development and Regulatory Affairs teams for new product development and product improvements, and product lifecycle management.
- Plan and coordinate community events, sponsorships, and trade shows.
- Support Customer Service team with website/phone inquiries, as needed.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field, with a minimum of 1-4 years of experience in marketing or brand management.
- Experience in consumer-packaged good or retail grocery industry is considered a strong asset.
- Experience in developing and executing marketing and sales strategies and programs to meet or exceed planned objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task, set priorities within tight timelines, and work within a budget.
- Experience working with various industry and data reports/tools (Nielsen, Mintel, etc.).
- Highly effective written and verbal communications skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote).
- Basic knowledge of photo/image software (AcrobatPro, Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, Publisher) is considered a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Pinterest, etc.
- Basic understanding of financial concepts and principles.
- Occasional travel within Canada and USA
