The Role:

The newly created role of Director of Communication (Global) plays a key role in shaping the company's internal messaging to ensure clarity, consistency and alignment with business objectives while keeping employees well-informed and engaged. Reporting to the VP of People & Culture and working closely with several key leaders across the company , this role will be responsible for leading internal communications initiatives, crafting and executing strategic communication plans, and driving employee engagement initiatives. This role will be a sole contributor as part of a global People & Culture team, with room to grow, adapt and create an exciting internal communication framework and deliver on that vision.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Intranet & Corporate communications
  • Provide content and govern the company intranet. Ensure the intranet is up-to-date, user-friendly, and informative.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to maintain and improve intranet functionality.
  • Establish and maintain the format for SharePoint sites, ensuring consistency and ease of use across all SharePoint sites.
  • Source and curate content for the company newsletter, providing business updates on a global scale. Ensure timely and engaging delivery of the newsletter to all employees.
  • Facilitate smooth execution of town hall events, including logistics and communication.

  • Employee Engagement & Town Halls
  • Collaborate with People & Culture to design and administer company engagement surveys. Support in the analysis of survey results and report metrics to leadership.
  • Assist with action plans based on survey feedback to enhance employee engagement.
  • Assist P&C team in people announcements and other global messaging.
  • Organize and run company town halls. Coordinate with various departments to gather relevant information and updates.
  • Driving down silos through effective global communications that take into account cultural norms in each jurisdiction.

  • Recognition and Awareness Communication
  • Create and manage communication around internal dates of recognition and awareness.
  • In collaboration with P&C, ensure timely and engaging announcements for events such as employee appreciation days, cultural awareness months, and other significant dates.

  • Establish and maintain channels for employee feedback and suggestions.
  • Create content and administer the career site to ensure an engaging front facing platform to attract new Goway Family members!
  • Establish key performance indicators for communication initiatives and use data-driven insights to refine and optimize communication approach and effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support communications programs and ad-hoc projects that align with corporate objectives.

About you!

  • A deep understanding of organizational culture and best practices in global internal communications
  • Adept organizational skills, with superior ability to manage up and down, while driving business outcomes to meet and exceed deadlines
  • Demonstrated track record in designing and implementing employee engagement initiatives, including survey administration and follow-up
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with an ability to convey complex information clearly
  • Experience working in multinational/multilingual and diverse cultural settings
  • Proven experience developing and executing internal communication strategies in corporate environments
  • Experience managing intranet content (especially SharePoint) and producing engaging company newsletters
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans that align with business goals
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in setting and tracking KPIs, and using data-driven insights to refine communication strategies
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Familiarity with content management systems (especially SharePoint) and other digital communication tools.
  • Tenacious, engaging and driven individual looking for a supporting environment that values a sense of humor!

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business Marketing, or a related field is highly regarded.
  • Certifications in corporate or internal communications, public relations, or related areas are advantageous.
  • Microsoft 365 suite of products.
