We are an organization that works to fight food insecurity through education and a meals on wheels service to individuals with a loss of autonomy. We compensate shortlisted candidates $75 per in-person interview in recognition of time and effort, and to support those with financial limitations who might not otherwise apply.

THE JOB

This role assists the fundraising & communications team in implementing strategies to engage with and educate our network of financial supporters, donors and the Santropol Roulant community at large. The team strives to build awareness about issues of food insecurity and social exclusion, and to educate donors and financial partners around Fundraising for Social Change and the general principles of Community-Centric Fundraising. The work of this position centers around contributing to the development and implementation of fundraising and communications strategies, with specific focus on corporate and individuals donors and major funders, producing fundraising appeals, campaigns and events, and maintaining relationships with the Roulant’s diverse community of members and partners. May handle special assignments and projects with regards to cross programmatic collaboration and other ad hoc projects as assigned.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Some education (1-2 years) or course work in communications, philanthropy, administration or data management OR a combination of experience, education and training equivalent;
• Knowledge of databases, conventional office software and spreadsheets;
• Ability to express, translate and/or edit bilingually in French and English for written and oral communications;
• Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines;
• Artistic and creative ability an asset, such as illustration, graphic design, photography or photo/video editing;
• Experience with Wordpress, basic HTML or data analysis tools such as GoogleAnalytics an asset.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement strategies to engage current and potential corporate partners, in line with annual priorities, budget projections and the Roulant’s Corporate Engagement Policy; manage and oversee the corporate budget and projections, in collaboration with the Manager; and delegate and oversee related activities.
• Develop and implement fundraising strategies to secure the engagement of individual and monthly donors, to the degree that they seek, and recognize their contributions (campaigns, events, and communications); manage and oversee the individual donor budget and projections; and delegate and oversee related activities.
• Work collaboratively with the Manager to research, develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective funding partners, including foundations and government in line with annual priorities, programming needs and budget projections; write and manage deadlines for fundraising grants, appeals, budgets and funding reports; help build funder awareness about food security issues and how they can maximize their social impact. 
• Lead the monthly reporting process, including operationalization of direct deposits, records, traceability and archiving in Salesforce (Moneris, Paypal, Simplyk, CanadaHelps, United Way, Benevity); and delegate and oversee related activities.

The following responsibilities are distributed and/or shared between the Fundraising & Communications Coordinator and the Fundraising & Communications Officer(s), under the supervision of the Manager:

• Maintain relationships with individual and monthly donors to secure their engagement to the degree that they seek and recognize their contributions; respond to donor inquiries, supply tax receipts, and write and send letters of thanks;
• Support in the planning and logistics of fundraising and governance events (AGM) as well as social entrepreneurship and community partnership opportunities, where needed;
• Support in the integration and efficiency of fundraising and communications tools and platforms;
• Maintain data concerning our donors and partners in Salesforce; archive and organize fundraising documents, support the annual audit process and prepare engagement and acknowledgment letters where necessary;
• Support in the maintenance and development of print, online and on-site communications (website, newsletters, social media, annual report, community board, etc.)
• Support in stewarding and developing online communities while managing and troubleshooting Santropol Roulant's online communication platforms such as Mailchimp, Wordpress, Facebook and LinkedIn. 

THE PAY AND PERKS

• Full-time, permanent role;
• Start date: April 2025 (flexible);
• 35 hours per week
• $24.44 - $25.61/hr (to be confirmed based on cost of living adjustment);
• 1000$ + quarterly bonuses per year, to support leisure, investments, and agricultural equipment purchases;
