This is a full-time hybrid role for a Director of Marketing and Business Development (with a focus in the hospitality industry). The Director of Marketing and Business Development will be responsible for market planning, marketing management, market research, marketing, sales, and other related duties. The role is located in Toronto, ON, but some remote work is acceptable.
We are seeking a talented and multifaceted Business Development and Marketing specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding our client base, fostering strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth for the firm. Additionally, this role will involve leading PR and marketing initiatives to enhance our brand visibility and industry presence.
1. Client Acquisition:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and targeted outreach.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients.
- Conduct presentations and engage with prospective clients to understand their needs and introduce our services.
2. Relationship Building:
- Cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers in the industry.
- Collaborate with existing clients to identify opportunities for additional projects and upsell our services.
- Represent the company at industry events and functions to enhance our brand presence.
3. Proposal Development:
- Collaborate with the design and project management teams to create compelling proposals that address client requirements and showcase our unique design solutions.
- Work closely with the internal teams to ensure the seamless transition from prospecting to project kick-off.
4. Marketing Strategy:
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness and drive client engagement.
- Manage the creation of marketing collateral, including brochures, presentations, and digital content.
- Utilize digital marketing channels and social media platforms to promote our projects and expertise.
5. Public Relations:
- Lead PR initiatives to secure media coverage and feature articles in relevant industry publications.
- Build relationships with media outlets, influencers, and industry stakeholders to amplify the firm's visibility.
- Coordinate and manage press releases, interviews, and other PR activities.
6. Strategic Partnerships:
- Identify and build strategic partnerships with architects, real estate developers, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate on joint ventures and initiatives that align with the firm's growth objectives.
- Proven track record in business development within the interior design or related industry (hospitality industry ++).
- Strong understanding of design principles and trends.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in developing and executing marketing strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to build and nurture client relationships.
- Results-oriented with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
