We currently have a full-time Catering Sales Manager position available at Coast Capri Hotel. A successful candidate in this role will have experience in and a passion for Food & Beverage, Events and Client Relations. Our right fit will work very well with a dynamic team and be keen to increase revenue by actively selling our conference and catering offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Successfully maintaining and building on existing client relationships that result in achieving and exceeding revenue/referral business goals
  • Actively selling, researching, qualifying, and soliciting new business prospect through sales calls, lead follow-ups, networking, ongoing correspondence, and prospecting activities
  • Engage with clients and group coordinators in order to provide exceptional customer service via various communication channels and in-person
  • Prepare contracts and distribute information through the proper channels both internally and externally
  • Act as the main liaison for internal event bookings and participate in the social Committee initiatives
  • Connect in the local community via attending culinary or tourism events, analysing competition, client outreach
  • Prioritize education and research in Food and Beverage trends, foster passion for great products and leverage expertise to create opportunities for up-selling
  • Conduct site inspections in your market segment, assist with planning and provide knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of the space, catering offerings and vendor services specific to our client's needs
  • Create detailed Banquet Event Orders for events to effectively communicate the expectations of the client to the operational departments - Banquets & Culinary
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Catering, Culinary and Banquet teams on creative ideas to capture meeting room and conference business
  • Ability to analyze business to make profitable decisions as to whether an event is a suitable fit within the strategic sales and marketing plan
  • Identify and action opportunities to optimize revenue and implement cost savings when planning events
  • Actively participate in meetings directly related to the sales and catering department in the hotel
  • Liaise closely with all Ambassadors of the Guest Services, Food and Beverage, and Management teams
  • Perform administrative support including maintaining the Sales and Catering database records and coverage for other positions within the sales and Catering department, as needed
  • Participate in other job-related duties and special projects as assigned

Skills & requirements:

  • Articulate, self-motivated, confident, and a positive team player
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and critical thinking abilities
  • Impeccable oral and written business and interpersonal skills, sophisticated communicator with excellent active listening skills and strong intuition
  • Incredibly detail-oriented, organized and able to multi-task under pressure
  • Effective sales skills to secure new business and up-sell products and services
  • Demonstrate advanced ability with regard to computer skills, including various programs, proficiency with email, internet and data-based applications, CRM and catering software
  • A minimum of 2 years working in a similar role or a hotel-based, F&B management role
  • Must be able to work outside of traditional business hours (evenings and/or weekends) as sporadically required

Salary: $49,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
