ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Graphic Design & Creative Content intern / co-op / incumbent will gain a full understanding of the Marketing Department's shared service model and be an active team member servicing many of Taymor's customer and internal requests. The incumbent will aid the Marketing and Channel team members with graphic design generation, creative direction, deliverable / asset layout, color usage direction, market research, competitive analysis and other tasks as requested. This role will gain exposure to most of Taymor's product categories as well as all the elements of Marketing's responsibilities to include social, website, collateral and content creation.

This role will participate in a wide range of activities to include revising art files, communicating cross-departmentally on understanding requirements / deliverables, working with our factory suppliers on receiving / sending correct art / packaging and product rendered files. This position will also be key in color corrections, collateral and packaging layout / designs and aid in adding visuals in all content created communications. Lastly, this role will also be serving on our AI committee in testing and trialing different AI tools that could be brought in to enhance work products or allow our team modify items more efficiently.

This role will work in conjunction with multiple departments including Product, Sales, and Design. This role will report directly to the VP of Category Strategy and Execution but will be managed from a day-to-day perspective by a manager on my team. The Graphic Design and Creative Content intern/incumbent will actively participate in all department meetings, and I will also bring them into some leadership discussions to provide exposure to strategy work.

Key responsibilities

  • Working with the Channel Marketing Manager and Marketing team to update existing design and packaging files
  • Supports the build of design elements for collateral, webpages, emails, social posts, slides, banners and other visual assets and tools
  • New collateral and creative asset layouts - images, design, colors and overall aesthetics
  • Conduct market research on competitive approaches to web, brochures, social posts - bring best practice ideas to team for future development
  • Assist in imagery and rendering updates, touch-ups and changes - especially in support of our Finish Extension Program / campaign
  • Meet with stakeholders to outline requirements, timing and overall scope of request
  • Effectively utilizes a broad range of internal communication methods

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in business, design or other field or currently enrolled at a University / College

Technical & Professional Abilities sought:

  • High proficiency in the major Design software platforms - especially the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Artistic with a keen eye for aesthetics and visually appealing content
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally
  • Efficiently organizes and structures own workload and cooperation with other team members
  • Project management skills
  • Effectively communicates
  • A curiosity and desire to gain an understanding of use and interpretation of deliverable
  • Excellent design, written and verbal communication skills
