ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Lifecycle Marketing Specialist will play a critical role in driving the performance of our email and targeted marketing campaigns. This individual will be responsible for creating, managing, and optimizing segmented marketing strategies to increase customer engagement, retention, and lifetime value. The ideal candidate will leverage customer data and insights to deliver personalized experiences across email marketing and other segmentation-based initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Email Marketing Management
- Develop and execute segmented email and SMS marketing campaigns that align with business goals.
- Plan and implement automated email flows (e.g., abandoned cart, welcome series, post-purchase, re-engagement).
- Build, test and execute multi-channel campaigns and workflows, both ad hoc and trigger based, using segment.com tools and Braze.
- Write briefs for content/copy for targeted email initiatives.
- Perform A/B testing on email subject lines, copy, CTAs, and content to optimize open rates, click-through rates, and conversions.
- Manage email list hygiene and ensure high deliverability rates.
2. Customer Segmentation & Targeting
- Analyze customer data to identify key segments based on behavior, demographics, purchase history, and lifecycle stage.
- Create and maintain segmentation models to support personalized marketing campaigns.
- Leverage segmentation to drive targeted promotions, offers, and messaging across multiple channels.
3. Data Analysis & Insights
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance, providing actionable insights and reports.
- Collaborate with the analytics team to understand customer trends and segment behavior.
- Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders to improve engagement and ROI.
- Develop reports on campaign performance. Contribute or present plans and share insights at appropriate meetings.
4. Cross-Channel Segmentation
- Partner with paid media, social media, and SMS teams to extend segmented strategies across other marketing channels.
- Identify opportunities to personalize marketing efforts using data-driven segmentation.
5. Copy Writing
- Write compelling copy across marketing channels, including naming, headlines, messaging strategy, websites, email, digital and print advertising.
- Translate creative direction and copy points from creative briefs into engaging and effective copy concepts.
- Maintain the very highest standards of copywriting and quality control
6. Tools & Platforms Management
- Manage ESPs (Email Service Providers) and marketing automation tools (e.g., Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar).
- Ensure the CRM or data platform is utilized efficiently to enable dynamic segmentation and personalization.
- Be an expert and point of contact for platform related queries & issues and ensure they are answered and solved.
7. Collaboration
- Work closely with creative, merchandising, and product teams to ensure campaigns are on-brand and aligned with customer needs.
- Collaborate with tech teams to ensure customer data integrations and accuracy across platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field.
Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in email marketing, segmentation, or customer lifecycle marketing.
- Proven experience in managing email campaigns and creating targeted audience segments.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms and CRM/ESP systems is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of and hands-on experience with Segment.com, Braze or similar systems.
- Experience in building responsive HTML/MJML e-mail’s and managing e-mail fulfilment and deliverability.
- Strong understanding of CASL and email marketing best practices.
- Understanding of basic data analysis principles with an understanding pre-/post campaign analytics, A/B-testing and KPI tracking.
Skills:
- Proficient in marketing automation tools (e.g., Segment, Braze, Klaviyo).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable strategies.
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and experience with reporting tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Looker, or Tableau).
- Knowledge of customer segmentation methodologies and personalization best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with A/B testing and campaign optimization strategies.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with SMS and push notification marketing.
- Understanding of customer lifecycle marketing and retention strategies.
- Experience with Shopify, WooCommerce, or similar e-commerce platforms.
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for email customization.
