WESTERN CANADA TRADE MARKETING AND ANALYTICS SPECIALIST

This role encompasses all aspects of Trade Marketing; coordination, trade and creative marketing roles, as well as analytics for sales. The Trade Marketing and Analytics Specialist will support the BC and AB Sales teams and supplier partners in the strategy, planning and execution of marketing initiatives to drive increased awareness and sales. This role includes leading the coordination of complete marketing programs in collaboration with events, product marketing, creative, editorial, and digital marketing, insights for selling, as well as with the wider business and sales teams in the region.

The successful candidate must have a great deal of self-discipline, set high standards for themselves, be competitive, and be a great team player. Experience in beverage alcohol sales, packaged goods, or the hospitality industry is required as well as fundamental wine and spirits (WSET 2) knowledge is ideal.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute the completion of marketing program applications. i.e., Shelf talkers & neck-tags, image programs, value-adds, thematic, in-store tastings, special events and bottle images for liquor board websites
  • Develop, Lead and execute brand events in line with the brand strategy, working closely with supplier partners to coordinate POSM, printing and distribution for promotional, sales, and event materials
  • Coordinate and manage the logistics of trade shows, sampling and market visits
  • Help manage and update all activation and retail programming calendars and budget requests.
  • In collaboration with the National Marketing Manager, Provincial Managers and Brand Owners, develop long term and annual brand plans and initiatives that increase the baselines and maximize in-store activation, enhance with ATL when relevant.
  • Coordinate tactical pull-through activity to stimulate sales in channel/customers (either through customer tools or agency teams)
  • Present and sell-in strategic marketing plans that will facilitate brand/product growth
  • Analyze programs effectiveness, provide insights for selling, targeted opportunities for the field sales team, trends and analysis on the business, participate in monthly business reviews
  • Perform pricing reviews. Manage competitive price positioning by identifying benchmark competitors and performing category analysis. Run different pricing models to evaluate and recommend best pricing scenarios.
  • Review market trends, competitive activity, and brand performance. Use market analysis to create cohesive brand strategies, evaluate existing activity and propose improvements

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years experience in Bev/Alcohol or FMCG environment within a marketing/trade marketing function
  • University degree in Marketing, or equivalent discipline. Knowledge of the marketing of wine and spirits is a plus.
  • Industry and wine knowledge (preferable)
  • Bilingual English/French (an asset)
