YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE
Reporting to the Senior Supervisor Communication and Social Performance, you will be part of the Community Relations Department. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to external communication strategies, coordinate stakeholder’s communication plans, play a crucial role in public relations, media relations and general communication support to public affairs department. You will play a leading role in supporting internal clients from multiple divisions, ensuring the seamless delivery of communication projects and materials. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment:
- Plan, execute and facilitate communications activities, ensuring they align with regional and corporate strategic objectives;
- Responsible for editorial planning and coordination, advertisement campaigns, and answering media requests;
- Develop content packages (blogs, social media, newsletter, targeted briefs) to continuously promote Agnico Eagle’s regional presence in Nunavut;
- Support stakeholder engagement activities to ensure effective communication;
- Provide communication advice to define internal and external communication needs and reach the target audience;
- Oversee media monitoring and management briefing.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing;
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Experience in traditional media and social media management is required;
- Demonstrate interest in innovative and trending approaches in communication;
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
- Experience in communication or public relations is preferred (5-10 years);
- Experience working with Indigenous stakeholders or mining is an asset.
Note that the official working language of our Nunavut operations is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 5/2;
- Location: Mirabel, Val d’Or, Rankin Inlet or Toronto – Work from home is also available;
- Occasional travel to mine sites and to the Nunavut communities is required.
