The South Winnipeg Community Centre manages one of Winnipeg's largest recreational spaces, uniting three vibrant locations filled with activities and events. As a central hub for socials, birthday parties, and meetings, we also oversee sports programming for thousands of children in the community. About the Role
As the Events and Program Coordinator, you'll plan and oversee community programs, special events, and fundraising initiatives, while managing facility bookings and logistics. You'll work closely with sports conveners, volunteers, and community partners to deliver engaging recreational activities and support fundraising efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate community programs, events, and athletic leagues.
- Manage event logistics, facility bookings, and program schedules.
- Develop fundraising initiatives and secure sponsorships.
- Build relationships with local businesses, organizations, and donors.
- Support administrative tasks, including CRM management, invoicing, and community outreach.
- Assist with communications, promotions, and social media engagement.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in event planning, community engagement, and program coordination.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Experience in fundraising, sponsorship outreach, and donor relations.
- Familiarity with CRM software and administrative support.
- Availability for some evenings and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Recreation Management, Community Development, or a related field.
- First Aid & CPR certification.
- Event Planning or Fundraising certification (an asset).
