What you'll do:

As our new PR Manager, you’ll lead day-to-day strategy and execution across key accounts. You’ll drive earned media coverage, manage influencer campaigns, oversee event planning, and be a strong team player. You’ll also mentor junior team members and consistently bring fresh thinking to the table. The role involves occasional travel within Canada and the US—just a few trips a year, mostly for events and to connect with our MATINÉE teams in person.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute strategic PR plans
  
  
• Secure consistent media and influencer coverage across Canadian markets
  
  
• Cultivate strong relationships with editors, writers, influencers, and industry tastemakers
  
  
• Identify and build partnerships with influencers, creators, and brand ambassadors
  
  
• Oversee seeding programs, press mailers, IRL and virtual events, and product launches
  
  
• Lead client communications, reporting, and project timelines
  
  
• Manage timelines and budgets
  
  
• Negotiate contracts and partnerships to maximize campaign effectiveness
  
  
• Manage junior team members and freelancers, ensuring smooth workflow
  
  
• Bring big ideas to brainstorms, pitch meetings, and campaign planning

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
  
  
• 4–6 years of experience in PR, ideally in beauty, wellness and lifestyle
  
  
• Media-savvy, digitally fluent, and always up on what’s trending
  
  
• You write and pitch like a pro—and your media contacts love hearing from you
  
  
• Detail-oriented: from content accuracy to clean copy and thoughtful edits
  
  
• Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  
  
• A solutions-driven problem solver who can pivot quickly when needed
  
  
• Organized, accountable, and results-focused
  
  
• Based in Toronto or Montreal and available for in-person moments (client meetings, events, studio days) and to travel a few times a year
  
  

Bonus points if you:

• Have agency AND in-house experience 

• Are bilingual in French + English
  
  
• Have U.S. media experience

• Have experience with digital PR, including an understanding of SEO, influencer partnerships, and how to drive online visibility for brands
