Want to join our team as a Graphic Designer, Apparel?

Are you a creative individual with a passion for hockey? We're looking for a Graphic Designer to help lead the design of our BAUER HOCKEY apparel graphics. You'll be responsible for bringing our creative vision to life for product collections across apparel categories.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Concept Development:
  • Understand the brand's essence, values, target audience, and overall image to maintain creative direction aligned with brand concept and product line plans.
  • Research current fashion trends, market preferences, and competitor designs to align graphics with the brand and appeal to the target demographic.
  • Present new ideas/trends appropriate for BAUER HOCKEY and take critiques constructively.
Design Elements:
  • Select appropriate typography, imagery, and color palettes that complement the brand and enhance the overall design and align with seasonal directions.
  • Create visuals, illustrations, photographs and unique elements that resonate with the brand's identity and message.
  • Consider the placement of graphics on apparel (e.g., front, back, sleeves, pockets).
  • Ensure the size of the graphic is appropriate for the garment.
  • Design all-over prints and develop packaging materials.
  • A strong understanding of trends and premium placement and sizing executions.
Technical Skills:
  • Master of various graphic design tools.
  • Understand printing processes (screen printing, heat transfer, embroidery, etc.) and their impact on the garment.
  • Adapt designs for various materials and garment types.
  • Evaluate the quality and execution of samples/strike-offs to ensure standards are met.
Trend Awareness:
  • Stay current with fashion trends to create relevant and appealing graphics.
  • Conduct thorough online research and attend market comp shopping for creative inspiration.
Communication and Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cross functional team members to develop a strong and collaborative design language.
  • Collaborate with other designers and creative team members each season to develop conceptual direction.

Qualifications:

  • BS or BA in Graphic Design or related field- or equivalent years of relevant and related experience.
  • 3-5 years of graphic design experience for products working within a design agency or other creative team environment.
  • Knowledge of production processes (printing, etc.); packaging or apparel production knowledge.
  • Sport or team design experience is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment, managing multiple seasons simultaneously and tracking development deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills of both presentation and team-work environment.
  • Travel to trade shows and vendors as required.
