Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Outside Sales Representative (B2B) at DeckMart Building Supplies in Vaughan, ON. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2B sales, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building relationships with clients. The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for tasks such as sales presentations, building relationships, providing excellent customer service, communication with clients, and developing new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Acquisition: Proactively identify and secure new B2B business opportunities within the home building, remodeling and construction sector. Create a list of potential leads and upcoming projects for future follow-up. Build connections with skilled tradespeople in the community to create a list of professionals. Initiate cold calls to potential new customers, including contractors and individuals planning major renovation projects.
Product Expertise: Attain comprehensive knowledge of and other market-available building materials to effectively communicate their features and benefits to clients.
Consultative Selling: Partner with builders, architects, and contractors to understand their specific needs, provide tailored product recommendations, and offer project-aligned solutions.
Relationship Building: Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers, including general contractors, architects, and designers, to foster client loyalty and encourage repeat business. Provide excellent customer service and support to clients. Visit contractor customers at their businesses or job sites to establish a professional relationship that fosters trust and loyalty towards the company.
Sales Targets: Meet and exceed sales targets through acquiring new clients and managing existing accounts.
Market Awareness: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and market conditions to refine sales strategies accordingly.
Reporting: Compile and present sales reports and forecasts to the company's executives.
Team working: Closely cooperate with an inside sales representative to close deals and present estimations and quotes to potential and existing customers. Establish and maintain communication with store estimators and other departments to ensure the seamless and uninterrupted supply of products and services for contractor projects.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in outside B2B sales, preferably in the building materials industry
- Customer Service and Communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- New Business Development
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Estimate product requirements and perform take-offs based on blueprints
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
