About the Role:
The Senior Manager, Internal Communications, is a member of the Subway Canada Team and part of the Global Communications Team. Their responsibilities include collaborating with key business stakeholders to gather, prioritize, and deploy updates that serve our franchisees effectively. This helps to educate, engage and build further goodwill and trust with the franchise community. The Senior Manager, Internal Communications, oversees creating, editing, and delivering content to support the success of franchisees and other stakeholders across our global organization. They serve French and English Canada.
The Senior Manager, Internal Communications, works collaboratively with Canadian and North American stakeholders, including the Field Communications team, to develop timely communications plans and help generate a steady stream of weekly communications. This will help provide clear updates to the field and restaurants on a range of topics.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide strategic communications counsel for business and develop franchisee-facing content. Content outputs include but are not limited to, bilingual videos for The Feed, franchisee webinars, franchisee-facing presentations, ad-hoc team communications and town hall content. Strategic thinking is critical to develop an amplification strategy for campaign rollouts internally, with franchisees and internal audiences.
- In collaboration with Assistant Manager, Field Communications, this role additionally helps produce regionally targeted, dynamic, and accurate materials and content for The Feed, the franchisee communications platform, to educate on business issues and initiatives to the franchisee community in a timely, clear, and effective manner and support the success of their restaurants.
- Build relationships with cross-functional partners within the business to gain an understanding of day-to-day happenings across initiatives and providing communications support. Distill important information into clear, concise updates for franchisees and internal teams, keeping them informed and aware of required actions. Additionally, provide guidance to cross-functional partners on the best channel and method for communicating information to the restaurants. The role works cross collaboratively with Independent Purchasers Cooperation (IPC), Legal, Canadian Leadership Team, and the Manager of Strategic Initiatives.
- Develops agenda and content for field events and conferences, such as Canadian Spring Engagement, Fall Business field meetings and biannual global Convention to ensure content is aligned with overall business objectives and messaging framework, working with multiple stakeholders for content development, design, legal review, and translations.
- Uses back-end metrics and data to inform strategic recommendations for communication with franchisees and the field.
- Contributes positively to team culture by coaching, teaching, and being a team player.
- Supports employee communications in Canada as part of the global employee communications team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required in Communications/Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English or related field high preferred.
- 8-10 years of communications experience required.
- Creates dynamic and creative content to connect franchisees and Field Operations teams to the organization and business goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required. Proficiency in French would be an asset.
- Must be able to communicate with diverse stakeholders.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Builds solid relationships and partnerships with organizational leaders, functional contacts and colleagues across the globe.
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn about the Subway business and franchisees' day-to-day experiences.
- Manages projects in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Quickly learns new technologies to drive more effective engagement.
- Uses analytics tools to measure communications effectiveness throughout the content lifecycle.
