IRC was created in 1984 to represent the Inuvialuit and their rights and benefits obtained under one of Canada's oldest comprehensive land claim agreements. JOB SUMMARY
Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented communications coordinator to support the communications division in creating and sharing engaging content across various platforms.
Reporting to the Editorial Manager, this role will work closely with divisions to create content that will reach our audiences including beneficiaries, government stakeholders and the public. The ideal candidate is a collaborative communicator, a strong writer, skilled in storytelling, and passionate about promoting Inuvialuit culture and values.
We are looking for six (6) coordinators to support different divisions of IRC.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- A strong understanding of Inuvialuit culture and community values and a commitment to furthering that knowledge.
- Experience with social media management and digital content creation.
- Ability to work collaboratively across various divisions and with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including SharePoint and Teams, and familiarity with Canva design software is an asset.
- Experience in a communications or content creation role, preferably within a nonprofit or Indigenous organization.
- Experience working in stakeholder-driven organizations, especially in the North.
- Knowledge of media relations and public engagement strategies.
