IESO Nova Scotia is a new organization created by the Nova Scotia Government commencing operations in 2025. IESO Nova Scotia will reform the way Nova Scotia's energy system is managed by assuming responsibility for managing the power system in real-time, achieving clean energy goals and planning for the province's future energy needs.

Role Summary:
The Communications Coordinator will report directly to the Manager, Communications & Stakeholder Engagement and support the organization's communications function by managing digital content, coordinating social media and website updates, assisting with media relations, and delivering clear, timely internal communications. In the role of Communications Coordinator, you will be joining a world-class team that is driving Nova Scotia towards a sustainable energy future.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating and maintaining a social media communications calendar
- Drafting content for social media platforms including copy and visuals
- Managing content updates, postings, and drafting copy for the website
- Social media scheduling, posting, monitoring, and reporting
- Preparing and distributing internal announcements, memos, and leadership messages
- Assist in developing communication plans for organizational initiatives, HR programs, and change management efforts
- Managing correspondence inboxes
- Supporting event planning and materials development for stakeholder engagement
You are:
- A graduate of a post-secondary program in Communications, PR, or a related field
- Equipped with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a communications role
- Able to use digital design tools including Canva
- Knowledgeable about day-to-day website content maintenance
- Understanding of social media content development and reporting
- A highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative
- Well organized and invested in the details
- Able to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
- A critical thinker able to manage complex information
- Savvy with social media
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A skilled communicator and storyteller
- Creative
- Proficient in Microsoft 365
