Job Summary

Under the authority of the Executive Vice President, the Director of Technology Development is responsible for defining, piloting and evolving RE/MAX Quebec's technological vision and strategy. The person also ensures the management of the technology team and ensures that the digital, web, data and artificial intelligence initiatives support the objectives and business priorities of the organization.

As both a manager and technology leader, the incumbent ensures alignment between business needs and technological directions. This individual establishes development priorities, guides his or her team, and works closely with the technology project manager, who is responsible for the coordination and follow-up of various projects.

They also play a leading role in the adoption of artificial intelligence and new technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and process optimization for RE/MAX Quebec and its network.

Main Responsibilities

Leadership and management of the technology team

• Ensure the management, supervision and development of the technology team;
• Mobilize the team around a clear technological vision and promote a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement;
• Establish the main technological priorities based on the directions and business objectives of the organization;
• Ensure close collaboration between the technology team and external technology partners;
• Participate in budget planning related to technologies and recommend the necessary investments for the evolution of the technological ecosystem.

Strategy and technological development

• Define and evolve the vision, strategy and technological roadmap of RE/MAX Quebec according to business priorities;
• Translate the needs of the organization and the network into technological orientations and solutions;
• Identify and prioritize technological development opportunities offering the greatest value for the organization and its network;
• Advise senior management on directions, investments and technological opportunities;
• Work closely with the technology project manager to ensure alignment of initiatives with the established directions and priorities;
• Define and track the objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to technological initiatives;
• Produce analyses and recommendations to support decision-making;
• Evaluate the solutions, platforms and technological partners to ensure their relevance and adequacy with the needs of the organization.

Web development and digital ecosystem

• Guide the evolution of RE/MAX Quebec's digital ecosystem and contribute to its continuous performance improvement;
• Develop and present integrated digital strategies and technological roadmaps;
• Conduct and contribute to audits of the digital ecosystem: websites, SEO/GEO, performance, data and competition;
• Play an active role in thinking about user experience (UX), solution architecture and ideation of new features;
• Collaborate with marketing, communications, operations and other departments to ensure the consistency of technological directions;
• Participate in the evaluation and selection of solutions, platforms, suppliers and technological partners.

Artificial Intelligence and Innovation

• Act as a leader in the adoption and integration of artificial intelligence within RE/MAX Quebec;
• Define and evolve the organization's directions in terms of AI, automation and innovation;
• Identify, evaluate and recommend tools and solutions to improve productivity, processes and user experience;
• Identify opportunities where AI and automation can create tangible value for the organization and the RE/MAX network;
• Support internal teams in the responsible and effective adoption of AI solutions;
• Contribute to the development of tools, templates, training and best practices for teams and the broker network;
• Ensure constant monitoring on new technologies, digital trends and innovations in artificial intelligence.

Sought-after Profile

Experience and Education

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent training in a field relevant to the role;
• Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in technology development, digital strategy, web development or similar role;
• Relevant experience in team management, leadership or supervision of technological resources;
• Demonstrated experience in defining technology strategies and directions;
• Strong understanding of web development, user experience, SEO/GEO, data analysis and digital technologies;
• Experience in evaluating solutions and technological partners;
• Experience in artificial intelligence, automation or digital transformation considered an important asset.
