Your Responsibilities as a Production Manager

  • You ensure the crews are briefed, organized, they have all their necessary equipment and on the road each morning on time. Team Members have the training they require, identifying and resolving any training issues that may arise to ensure quality of work. Keeping dedicated team members by continuing a healthy team environment and keeping people accountable.
  • Regular on the ground supervision of job sites to ensure it's done to The Grounds Guys standards and within the customers contract including following up on any concerns from the customer or team members.
  • Implementing The Grounds Guys franchise systems effectively and efficiently throughout the business including timesheets has been adequately filled in with correct times, photos and notes detailing the work completed, review daily targeted onsite times, unbillable times (% maximum) and quality of work.
  • Ensuring the shop, yard, trucks and trailers are neat, tidy, well organized and stocked. Managing equipment maintenance including repairs on all tools, equipment, vehicles whether ordering and following up with the vendor or sending it to a qualified mechanic.
  • Are comfortable taking over additional leadership responsibilities when another manager is away.

How We Measure Success

  • Attendance & Strong Communication:

Might sound basic, but it's critical to meet our Customer Service goals. This is a full time position, summer is mostly weekends off, when we switch to winter 24/7 on-call availability from October 15th - April 30th since winter storms don't take weekends off

  • Budget vs Actual Hours: Keeping jobs profitable is dependent on managing the time planned and spent at each job.
  • Return Rates: You'll ensure quality control to make sure it's rare to ever need to go back to redo a job.
  • Customer Retention: Building great relationships with each customer, and ensuring that they receive exceptional service, will keep them coming back.
  • Full Utilization of Software & Processes: This helps make all of the above possible.

Ideal Candidate for a Production Manager

  • Enjoy being part of a team, ability to teach, mentor and motivate team members with a friendly and positive outlook on life!
  • Good Communication skills, is able to problem solve; make quick informed decisions but asks if they have questions, with attention to the details
  • Valid Drivers licence
  • 3+ years experience in landscaping or another highly detailed outdoor profession.
