Purpose of the Role
The VP of Project Management is responsible for leading the company's project management function at the executive level, overseeing all aspects of new restaurant builds, renovations, relocations, and special projects. You will define standards, optimize processes, and ensure all projects align with brand, operational, and financial objectives, enabling the company's rapid growth while maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and own the execution of all construction and development projects across the organization.
- Direct the annual build-out of 30+ restaurants, including new locations, renovations, relocations, and transfers.
- Establish and enforce project management standards, policies, and best practices across the organization.
- Develop, monitor, and control project budgets, capital plans, and timelines to ensure cost-effective delivery.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, consultants, and subcontractors, ensuring performance, compliance, and accountability.
- Serve as the executive escalation point for project risks, issues, and strategic decisions.
- Partner with Franchise Operations, Real Estate, Finance, and Operations leadership to align projects with system growth goals.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Project Management team, promoting high performance and succession planning.
- Provide executive reporting, dashboards, and updates to CEO and leadership team on project status, risks, and outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Ensure all projects comply with regulatory requirements, brand standards, and company policies.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- 10+ years of progressive experience in project management, construction, or development, preferably within QSR, FSR, or franchise-based environments.
- 5+ years of senior leadership experience managing large-scale, multi-site projects and teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, high-impact projects from conception through delivery.
- Strong expertise in construction management, capital planning, budgeting, and contract negotiation.
- Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Proven experience working with cross-functional leadership teams and franchise partners.
- Executive-level decision-making skills, strategic thinking, and business acumen.
- Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Office365.
