A leading North American financial institution has launched a new private debt investment platform and is seeking a Vice President to help build and scale the team. The platform provides flexible junior capital solutions to middle-market businesses, including subordinated debt, second-lien, mezzanine, and select unitranche structures. Typical portfolio companies generate $5-25M+ EBITDA across diversified industries.

This is a hands-on role with significant ownership and exposure. The VP will lead underwriting, deal execution, and financial analysis while working closely with senior leadership and the investment committee.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting and diligence for junior capital transactions
• Build and own financial models and credit analysis
• Prepare investment materials and present to investment committee
• Coordinate legal documentation and deal closing
• Engage with borrowers, sponsors, lenders, and advisors
• Support portfolio monitoring post-investment

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years in private debt, mezzanine, leveraged finance, or credit underwriting
• Strong financial modeling and execution skills
• Experience running deal processes end-to-end
• Able to work in a fast-paced, build-out environment
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities
• Entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset
