The Ontario Mutual Insurance Association (OMIA) is the trade association for 33 independent mutual insurance companies across Ontario. Each mutual is 100% Canadian and owned by its policyholders, and each is more than a century old.

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator uses graphic design, web design, social media, and ambassadorship to tell the Ontario Mutuals story. This role works alongside the OMIA Marketing & Communications team to support our member companies with engaging visuals and communications pieces and to facilitate excellent trade show and conference events.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce creative assets including digital graphics, short videos, print materials, and presentations.
  • Coordinate and execute social media content for the Ontario Mutuals brand.
  • Support website design and updates for OMIA's member-website as well as the Ontario Mutuals public-facing website.
  • Administrate communications and notification pieces for OMIA using online platforms like Mailchimp.
  • Support the planning and facilitation of off-site events as an OMIA ambassador (approximately five events annually).

Education & Experience

  • Diploma, Degree, or Certificate in Graphic Design, Marketing/Communications, Digital Media, or related field
  • 2-4 years' professional experience in a similar role.

Other Qualifications

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Proficient in Microsoft products (Word, Powerpoint, Outlook)
  • Strong understanding of social media content creation and scheduling.
  • Knowledge of website design principles and tools (eg. Wordpress, Wix)
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication and collaborative skills.

The work week consists of 5 days per week, Monday to Friday; We are currently hybrid with 2 to 3 days in the office; however, this is subject to change. This role requires some travel during the year (within Ontario).
