Marketing & Events Manager
Reports to: Executive Director

Salary Range: $70,000 to $85,000
The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF) raises funds to support vital equipment, programs, and services at our regional hospitals, ensuring care remains close to home for families across the Eastern Fraser Valley. We are seeking a highly organized, creative, and community-minded Marketing & Events Manager to join our team and help elevate our message, expand our reach, and deliver exceptional fundraising events.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communications & Events Manager leads all Foundation communications and oversees the planning, execution, and growth of signature events, third-party events, and community initiatives. This role blends strategic communications, digital content development, media relations, and hands-on event management.
You are a storyteller, a project leader, and a relationship builder who thrives in a fast-paced nonprofit environment and genuinely cares about community impact.
Key Responsibilities
Communications
- Develop and implement a comprehensive annual communications plan.
- Lead social media strategy across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube.
- Create engaging written and visual content, including posts, newsletters, website content, and donor stories.
- Support press releases-pre- and post-event, equipment news, and Foundation milestones.
- Manage the Foundation's e-newsletters (1st and 15th of every month), ensuring strong storytelling and donor engagement.
- Work with website and marketing partners to maintain a fresh and interactive online presence (including a news/blog portal).
- Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all platforms and materials.
Event Management
Plan, coordinate, and execute FVHCF's signature events, including:
- Walk for Cardiac
- Run for Mom
- Chilliwack Car Show
- Golf Tournament
- Grand Gala
- It's a Wonderful Breakfast (Abbotsford & Chilliwack)
- Trees of Caring
As well as:
- Work closely with sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and community partners.
- Manage event timelines, budgets, logistics, and post-event reporting.
- Oversee event marketing, ticketing, promotion, and social content.
- Support third-party event organizers and maintain strong community relationships.
Fundraising Communications
- Support direct mail campaigns (Spring, Fall, Holiday).
- Assist with donor stewardship communications, sponsorship packages, and impact reports.
- Write compelling content that connects donors to the meaningful work happening in our hospitals.
Team Leadership & Staff Management
- Supervise and support a team of three staff members involved in communications, events, and marketing functions.
- Provide clear direction, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure strong collaboration and high-quality output.
- Oversee workload distribution, project timelines, and day-to-day priorities for communications and events staff.
- Foster a positive, creative, and mission-driven team culture aligned with the Foundation's values.
- Support professional development and training opportunities for staff.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Event Management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in communications, events, or nonprofit fundraising (or a mix of equivalent experience).
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
- Strong skills in social media management and digital marketing.
- Event management experience-planning, logistics, budgeting, and volunteer coordination.
- Ability to juggle multiple deadlines while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with CRM systems, email marketing platforms, design tools, and website CMS an asset.
- A passion for community health care and the ability to represent FVHCF with professionalism and warmth.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
