BRAND SPECIALIST
We have one (1) Brand Specialist position to fill in the Commercial Department. This is a permanent full-time position.
The Brand Specialist is responsible for maximizing and optimizing the brand visibility of Air France and KLM in the Canadian market. The job holder makes sure to respect the allocated budget, including an analysis of return on the investments of these actions.
In a competitive and creative environment, the job holder develops marketing events/advertising campaigns and executes sponsorships/partnerships with the goal of generating brand awareness, maintaining favorable brand positioning and engaging consumers in the Canadian market.
The incumbent reports to Brand & Marketing Director NAM and is managed day to day by the Brand & Marketing Manager Canada.
The position's main goal is supporting a strong marketing strategy via an annual advertising, sponsorship and influencer action plan for Air France and KLM in Canada. While considering:
- AF & KLM Brand Awareness and Consideration are key objective for the organization (and an official KPI) given the context of Canada being a strategic market for both airlines and in joint venture with Delta in Canada
- Context of two different brand images for Air France and KLM; complex and different internal organization for the Air France and KLM brands
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Brand Visibility
- Supports the yearly brand strategy in terms of actions and campaigns defined by the Brand & Marketing Manager Canada (including advertising, sponsorships, stunts, events and influencers if appropriate), for AF & KLM in Canada and linked to the commercial plan
- Implements campaigns making sure to optimize brand visibility for the two brands in the Canadian market and track the campaigns
- Tracks and respects budget for each campaign
- Compiles and reports return on investments for all campaigns to aid Brand & Marketing Manager Canada optimize AF & KLM visibility in Canada
- Ensures marketing initiatives and events are executed appropriately, on budget, on deadline and in respect to Air France and KLM quality standards
- Enhances AF and KLM brand positioning and notoriety by increasing number of impressions and brand experiences in targeted advertising areas, events and/or sponsored locations
- Monitors Brand Tracker tools and different brand studies managed locally or by HQ
- Nurtures relationships with creative, media, and PR agencies both in Canada and in Europe (Air France/KLM HQs): ensures strategic alignment, clear briefings
- Ensures seamless coordination between local agency efforts and international brand directions, maintaining consistency across channels and campaigns
Sponsorships
- Identifies & evaluates opportunities to achieve marketing goal by engaging in strategic partnerships
- Prospects, combines and reports partners or new sponsorship opportunities to discover and develop different market segments with the goal of engaging new consumers with our brands
- Coordinates partnerships to increase awareness and consideration in the CA market
- Ensures that our brands are adequately promoted by partners
- Coordinates day-to-day relations with partners, media buying agencies, and creative studios (local and HQ-based): ensures proper planning, creative development, and quality control of deliverables
- Evaluates partnerships performance, ROI and creates wrap-up/summary reports
- Works with suppliers and outsourced support hired for events
Influencer campaigns
- Implements the influencer strategy in line with our local business goals to enhance Air France and KLM’s visibility and positioning in the Canadian consumer market with measurables KPIs.
- Coordinates relationships with influencer agencies and/or independent consultants, develops briefs for the creation of press kits and brand messaging tailored to the Canadian market, and ensures alignment with global brand guidelines.
- Books travel tickets for influencers and ensures smooth travel process with internal stakeholders,
- Executes local targeted press events and influencers trips, and brand experiences that generate impactful storytelling, press articles, and social media exposure.
- Supports Brand & Marketing Manager Canada on Central Press Projects when needed.
- Collaborates with lifestyle, travel, and aviation influencers to develop content and campaigns that resonate with Canadian consumers. Ensures a clear brief, measurable KPIs, and authentic brand representation.
- Tracks earned media value, influencer ROI, and reach/impressions on influencer campaigns to report performance and optimize future activations using Creator IQ tool.
- Monitors market trends and competitor activity in influencer space to identify new opportunities and stay ahead in consumer engagement.
Digital Tactical campaign support
- Supports the Digital team by coordinating offline media creatives to support online sales during major tactical campaigns in the Canadian market.
- Liaises with media agencies to plan and buy offline media.
- Executes tactical offline advertising campaigns with the advertising agencies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree with specialty in Marketing minimum
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in similar job
- Very good knowledge of media buying, advertising, Influencers marketing and sponsorships activities in the Canadian market
- This position requires great flexibility and involves regular business travel as needed by the organization
