Position Overview
We are seeking a Technical Writer to develop clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation describing specialized machinery and technical products. The successful candidate will gather technical information and translate complex concepts into clear language that can be easily understood by clients, internal staff, and other stakeholders.
This role focuses on preparing product documentation, specifications, catalogues, website content, and operational materials that support understanding and use of technical equipment. Strong familiarity with the company’s products and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly are more important than formal academic credentials.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, write, and maintain technical documentation describing machinery, equipment, and related technical processes
- Develop detailed product specifications and technical descriptions based on internal product knowledge
- Create product catalogues outlining features, capabilities, and technical characteristics of equipment
- Write and revise technical content for the company website to clearly explain technical concepts in language accessible to clients
- Translate complex technical information into practical, user-friendly documentation
- Prepare instructional materials, reference documents, and explanatory guides related to technical products
- Develop and maintain internal operational documentation and structured forms used to support technical workflows
- Organize technical material logically to ensure clarity, consistency, and ease of use
- Collaborate with internal team members to gather technical information and ensure documentation accuracy
- Review and update documentation to reflect product improvements and operational changes
- Ensure consistency of terminology, formatting, and presentation across all technical materials
- Adapt technical content for different audiences, including clients, internal users, and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to understand and clearly explain technical or mechanical concepts
- Strong writing and document organization skills
- Experience preparing technical descriptions, manuals, catalogues, or structured documentation
- Ability to present complex information in plain language suitable for non-technical audiences
- Practical familiarity with the company’s products or similar technical equipment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in written materials
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple documentation projects
- Comfort working with technical subject matter and structured information
Preferred Experience
- 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Experience in the packaging automation machinery industry
- Experience preparing product documentation or technical content
- Experience writing website content explaining technical products or services
- Experience working with machinery, manufacturing, engineering, or technical equipment
- Experience developing structured forms or internal documentation
- Ability to organize technical information in a clear and consistent manner
