JOB DESCRIPTION

Breakfast Club of Canada is currently seeking a Corporate Editorial and Communications Advisor. Reporting to the Senior Corporate Communications and Public Relations Advisor, the incumbent will contribute to the drafting, adaptation and distribution of content and key messages aimed at various internal and external audiences. They will play an advisory role and help develop and implement communications strategies and plans aimed at raising the organisation’s profile and ensuring message consistency. The successful candidate will work closely with several teams, including Philanthropy, Human Resources and Programs, to support various communications projects and initiatives. Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written, is essential for this role.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the drafting, production, distribution and updating of the Club’s communication plans and tools.
  • Draft, translate and proofread various internal and external documents in both official languages.
  • Review all communications from external partners and ensure that the Club’s brand identity and key messages are upheld.
  • Support the Programs team with their communications needs, including key messages, brand alignment and the approval of external content.
  • Draft content for internal and external newsletters and contribute to their planning, production and distribution.
  • Develop and implement the internal communications plan and advise the Club’s teams on best practices in internal communications.
  • Provide translations and offer guidance for communications in English.
  • Manage translation requests and ensure that each translation accurately reflects the source text.
  • Manage various corporate communications projects, such as the annual report and the drafting of fact sheets.
  • Draft speeches for members of senior management and support the CEO with key messages, speaking notes and social media posts.

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in communications, writing or a related discipline.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent command of both French and English (oral and written).
  • Extensive experience and skill in writing and adapting content for various communications platforms.
  • Excellent editing and translation skills in both French and English.
  • Experience in donor-centric writing, an asset.
  • Experience working in the social enterprise, non-profit or philanthropy sector, an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
