The Position

Reporting to the Chief Operating & Development Officer (CODO), the Vice President, Marketing and Donor Experience (Vice President) will lead one of Plan International Canada's highest-impact portfolios.

This role drives 85 percent of all private revenue (~$80M annually), oversees a $22M operating budget, and leads the largest team at Plan with 65+ marketing, digital, and donor experience professionals.

The Vice President will shape and deliver the strategies that fuel Plan's growth:

  • Retention and value growth for 200,000+ donors through a modern, insight-driven donor experience.
  • High-quality donor acquisition across diverse channels and products.
  • Integrated mass marketing, brand, digital, product innovation, and forecasting that diversify and future-proof revenue.

The Vice President will contribute an elevated marketing lens: campaign leadership, shared ownership of the enterprise MarCom strategy, refreshed digital and social operations, product development, pricing, category/offer positioning, demand sensing, insights, and conversion optimization.

Ideal Candidate Experience

Professional Experience:

  • Executive-level marketing and sales leadership experience with direct P&L responsibility or equivalent, managing multimillion-dollar revenue and budget accountability.
  • Expertise in building digital marketing solutions/channels, brand development and implementing marketing strategies to acquire, retain and grow the customer base and revenues.
  • Experience within direct response and digital marketing, customer/donor fundraising lifecycle management, multi-channel growth strategies, program and product marketing.
  • Experience in large, complex environments across private, public, large nonprofit or NGO sectors.
  • A track record leading large (50+) high-performing teams.
  • Experience with customer care and customer experience, retail, loyalty, and subscription programs are ideal.

Key Skills:

  • Expertise in strategic and operations planning, forecasting and program/product development.
  • Proven ability in business process improvement, integration, data management/data analytics, forecasting, modelling, and performance analytics to drive decisions and improve outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving.
  • Ability and comfort with CRM systems, knowledge of digital platforms/integration, marketing technology eco-systems/technology stacks.
