Recognizing the growing crisis of Canadian Armed Forces Veterans facing homelessness upon returning to civilian life, the Homes For Heroes Foundation was established. Tragically, up to 10,000 Canadian Veterans now find themselves living on the streets, having sacrificed to protect our freedoms. These brave individuals deserve our steadfast support. With public assistance, Homes For Heroes provides Veterans with housing, resources, and services, to facilitate a successful transition back into civilian life.
Position Overview
Homes For Heroes Foundation is seeking a skilled and mission-driven Marketing Coordinator to support our national-level marketing and communications efforts. This full time position will play a critical role in amplifying Homes For Heroes Foundations brand, messaging, engagement, and awareness.
The ideal candidate possesses demonstrated experience with a national organization and excels in digital and social media strategies, alongside proficiency in marketing and communications initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and uphold a concise social media strategy for a national nonprofit organization.
- Create engaging social media content that highlights the charities impact, programs, partnerships, and success stories.
- Lead national marketing and communications efforts, including new releases, media advisory, events, advertising and marketing campaigns.
- Support the fund development team with the design of bi-monthly newsletters, fundraising proposals, and donor communications.
- Collaborate with veteran villages across Canada on their local marketing, event, and promotional efforts.
- Establish and preserve a focused brand identity across all platforms including web site, social media, press releases, media relations, events and advertising.
- Assist with various communication, marketing, and organizational tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience managing marketing and communications for a national organization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to design proposals and donor-facing materials.
- Experience translating complex and sensitive topics into clear, compelling, and respectful messaging.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency with digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and design software.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with a national charity.
- Familiarity with donor engagement, fundraising communications, or grant-related materials.
- Graphic design experience or comfort working with templates and brand assets.
