Position Title: Senior Software Developer
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Hybrid
Salary: $113,409 annually, for full time employment (37.5 hours per week) in our office.
Job Summary
The Senior Software Developer will be an authority on software design and programming primarily in C#. They will lead the design and implementation of software solutions from start to finish - designing and documenting software design, programming applications and testing in the office until product release. They will guide the improvement of current products, software quality, processes and standards to expand and improve our software suite according to the current roadmap. They will also mentor and guide less experienced programmers in development of their applications.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering/Technical
· Demonstrate a diverse programming background, with strong experience in C# programming with databases, data acquisition and interfacing.
· Demonstrate an understanding of supported applications & all interdependencies (OS, network, server, workstations, etc.)
· Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C# applications.
· Support the development of strategy, frameworks, best practices and patterns for the development organization.
· Proficiency in modeling environments such as Unified Modeling Language (UML)
· Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
· Develop and improve software design, production and testing process. Identifying and implementing more efficient practices, alternate methods for functionality and determining new opportunities for software applications
Client Relations
· Make presentations to internal clients and external clients as part of a development checkpoint or software design review.
· Meet and interact with internal clients to evolve the software design and produce excellent deliverables.
· Work with internal clients and testers to ensure an exhaustive test program and successful software release.
Communication
· Must have strong communication and written skills and be team oriented.
· Author, update and maintain software design documents.
· Coordinate unit and integrated testing
· Consult with the Director, Control Systems to analyze and assess needs and opportunities for development paths.
Leadership
· Be a C# Program Development Team Leader
· Be responsible for participating in all phases of the software development and maintenance life cycle.
· Help develop and maintain code design and coding standards.
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines and milestones with minimal supervision.
· Possess a strong sense of ownership of their work, managing project and internal deadlines with complete independence.
· Readily accept and prioritize new tasks, completing work within both given and self-managed time constraints
· Work with less experienced Software Developers, mentoring and guiding them
Role Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Senior Software Developer or a similar role.
- Ability to write, modify, integrate and test software code, administer tests, build models, present and explain proposals to clients, offer mentoring
