The Order Entry Clerk is responsible for accurately entering, reviewing, and maintaining order information within the organization's systems. This role supports daily operations by ensuring orders are processed efficiently, records remain accurate, and communication between departments is timely and effective. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter customer and internal orders accurately into the company's database.
  • Review orders for completeness and accuracy before processing.
  • Verify customer information, product details, pricing, and shipping information.
  • Correct discrepancies by communicating with the appropriate departments.
  • Process order updates, cancellations, and modifications as needed.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and documentation.
  • Monitor order status and ensure timely processing.
  • Respond to internal inquiries regarding order information.
  • Generate reports and assist with recordkeeping activities.
  • Follow company policies regarding confidentiality and data security.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in data entry, order processing, or administrative support preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with ERP, CRM, or order management systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
