Lanart Rug Inc. — Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec
Full-time, permanent / Primarily in person / Limited hybrid flexibility by agreement
Compensation: C$150,000–C$250,000 annual base salary, plus a formula-based share of incremental net sales and eligible brand profit. The final percentages, baseline and measurement rules will be documented in writing. The plan rewards durable, profitable growth rather than volume alone.
The mandate
Lanart is building an AI-native consumer-brand and e-commerce engine inside an established Canadian manufacturing business. We are looking for an unusually capable operator to own brand creation, online revenue, product development, influencer and creator programs, and the analytical system behind those decisions.
This is a general-management role for someone who can think like a founder and execute like an owner. You will work directly with James Galbraith and the ownership team. You will personally build the early operating system, make decisions from imperfect data, and then recruit or direct the people and partners needed to scale it.
This is not a conventional 9-to-5 role. It requires high ownership, frequent work beyond a standard 40-hour week, and occasional late nights during launches, critical campaigns and product deadlines. The company will respect applicable employment standards and overtime requirements.
What you will own
- Brand strategy, positioning and go-to-market plans for new and existing consumer products.
- E-commerce revenue and contribution margin across owned sites, marketplaces and relevant retail channels.
- Performance marketing, organic growth, merchandising, conversion optimization and retention.
- Creator, influencer and UGC programs, including sourcing, briefs, negotiation, content rights, testing and ROI measurement.
- Product discovery and development: customer insight, briefs, specifications, pricing, unit economics, launch and iteration.
- The KPI and forecasting system for traffic, conversion, CAC, LTV, margin, inventory and cash impact.
- AI-enabled workflows for research, creative production, analysis, merchandising, customer insight and operational automation.
- Agencies, freelancers and eventually an internal team, while remaining close to the actual work.
What strong performance looks like in the first 90 days
1. Produce a fact-based audit of our brands, products, channels, customers and economics, with a trusted KPI baseline.
2. Establish a prioritized growth roadmap and a disciplined weekly testing cadence.
3. Launch a measurable creator/influencer pipeline with clear content and commercial outcomes.
4. Build a product-development pipeline with customer rationale, specifications and unit economics.
5. Put useful AI workflows into production that materially improve decision quality or cycle time.
What you bring
- A record of personally owning meaningful brand, e-commerce, product or growth outcomes; you can explain the numbers and your exact contribution.
- Strong practical AI literacy. You have built or operated real workflows using modern AI tools—not just experimented with prompts.
- Exceptional quantitative ability. A background in computer science, engineering, mathematics, finance or another analytical discipline is valued; equivalent demonstrated ability is welcome.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills. SQL, Python, BI tools, automation platforms or forecasting experience are strong assets.
- Good judgment across both creative brand work and commercial unit economics.
- Hands-on experience with creators, influencers, paid or organic content, or a closely related acquisition channel.
- The ability to operate with urgency, limited structure and incomplete information.
- Authorization to work in Canada and the ability to work regularly from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Relocation support can be discussed for an exceptional candidate.
French is strongly valued. English is required because the role works directly with English-speaking customers, creators, marketplaces, technology platforms and suppliers across North America.
