Position Overview
“Based in the Greater Montreal area and reporting directly to the Director of Strategy and Business Development, the Channel Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in accelerating our expansion across the US market. This high-impact hybrid role blends distribution channel management with direct field engagement with major contractors. By acting as a technical solution advocate for end-users while driving dealer performance, you will generate market demand, gather critical field insights, and grow sustainable revenue in the United States.”
Key Responsibilities
Contractor Relations & Field Advocacy in partnership with our US network
- Build and nurture direct relationships with major contractors and key end-users across targeted US regions to drive product specification and adoption.
- Serve as a brand ambassador on job sites: actively listen to contractor pain points, operational needs, and feedback to inform product development and corporate strategy.
- Perform hands-on technical demonstrations and job-site trials to prove product performance and return on investment.
- Route generated contractor demand and equipment leads directly through our local authorized distributor network.
- Distribution Network Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new distributor partners in key US territories.
- Manage and grow existing US distributor relationships by establishing annual sales targets, territory plans, and stock recommendations.
- Train, equip, and support distributor sales teams through joint customer calls, product updates, and sales enablement resources.
- Market Intelligence & Product Feedback
- Capture and synthesize real-time market trends, competitor tactics, and end-user feedback to share with internal Product Specialists and leadership in Montreal.
- Represent the company at major US industry trade shows, contractor events, and dealer meetings.
- Territory & CRM Management (From Montreal Office / Remote)
- Maintain precise records of distributor opportunities, job-site visits, and key contractor contacts within the CRM.
- Strategically plan and optimize travel itineraries across US regions to ensure maximum field efficiency (1 week per month of travel + trades shows)
Qualifications & Key Requirements
- Location & Mobility: Based in the Greater Montreal area, with the ability to travel across the United States (approx. 25% to 40% of the time for dealer visits, job-site demos, and trade shows).
- Experience: Proven track record in B2B business development, territory sales, or channel management within commercial construction equipment, industrial machinery, or related building trades.
- Language Skills: Professional fluency in English (for high-level negotiations and job-site rapport in the US) and French (for internal headquarters collaboration).
- Core Competencies: Strong active listening skills, high technical aptitude, versatility to connect with both job-site superintendents and dealer executives, and self-driven autonomy.
