Atlific Hotels, representing the Holiday Inn & Suites Vancouver Downtown, seeks an energetic, dynamic, results-oriented individual to join the team as Sales Manager. This Sales Manager is responsible for booking Association, Government and Indigenous group and IT business. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Sales Manager is responsible for prospecting, soliciting, booking, closing and effectively yielding business to achieve sales objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sales Manager's duties will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Primarily targeting, soliciting and penetrating new and existing accounts in the BC Provincial Association, Canadian & US Association, Group Government, Indigenous Group and Government IT segments.
- Responding to sales inquires within brand standard timelines and working to convert a high volume of leads to definite business.
- Conduct outside sales calls, telephone solicitation and site inspections to build relationships and aggressively target the business.
- Close sales and conduct meetings to establish long and short-term business goals within budget.
- Conduct account and market research to develop strategies to grow market share.
- Develop and implement effective sales action plans in the assigned market segments.
- Provide customer intelligence in evaluating the market and economic trends that may lead to changes in sales strategy for assigned segments to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Participate in business and industry related clubs and organizations.
- Entertain Clients on/off site; represent the hotels in a professional manner.
- Participates in applicable IHG/Holiday Inn and Atlific corporate training programs.
- Work with Holiday Inn hotel sales related systems including Delphi and Opera PMS.
- Represent the hotel at IHG and Atlific events, and sales related activities, including travel.
- Ensure all client interactions are documented within Delphi.
- Participate in brand and Atlific cross-selling and lead referral programs.
- Champion the sales culture within the hotel among associates and managers.
- Assist with various assignments and/or projects as assigned by Management Company, General Manager or Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3 years of sales manager experience in hotels.
- Highly energetic, aggressive self-starter and well-developed sales skills including excellent networking, negotiation, prospecting, presentation, and verbal & written communication skills.
- Has established industry contacts and knowledge of marketplace.
- Post-secondary education in sales/business or equivalent.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite) required; experience with Delphi/Salesforce an asset.
- Strong organization skills and detail oriented.
- Commitment to superior customer service.
- Fluent in English - spoken and written communication; other languages - an asset.
- Must have ability to work under minimal supervision and with priority deadlines.
- Works well under pressure.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for the purpose of conducting sales calls.
- Visa Requirements : Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
- Salary range: $65,000-$75,000 annually, commensurate with experience
