As a leader in supporting independent optometry across Canada, Eye Recommend is looking for a highly motivated and creative Senior Communications Specialist to join our dynamic Communications and Marketing team. This key role demands a strategic communicator with exceptional writing and storytelling skills to shape our brand voice and how we connect with members, partners, and the wider eye care community across Canada.

What You'll Do

• Own the strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive, channel-appropriate communication strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Create standout content: Write and edit compelling content for newsletters, member announcements, website copy, social media, press releases, blogs, and campaigns.
• Lead our social presence: Plan editorial calendars, produce and post content, and analyze performance to optimize reach and engagement.
• Champion the brand: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent, on-brand storytelling across all touchpoints.
• Raise the bar on quality: Edit and proofread with meticulous attention to detail, upholding impeccable grammar and accuracy.
• Innovate and experiment: Bring fresh ideas, formats, and tactics to deepen audience engagement and strengthen our community.
• Mentor and lead: Provide guidance to other communications team members and help foster a high-performing, creative culture.

What You'll Bring

• 5-8 years experience in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• Proven excellence in writing and editing across digital, print, social, and internal channels.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
• Project leadership: Strong organizational skills; comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Media relations & stakeholder engagement experience with a track record of results.
• Experience in social media management and performance tracking.
• Familiarity with CMS platforms, Mailchimp, Canva, and project management software is considered a strong asset.
